My Story: Why I Created The Centred Curriculum
I didn’t set out to create a framework.
I set out to solve a problem I could no longer ignore.
After more than two decades working across higher education and the creative industries, I had seen the same pattern repeat itself—talented, capable students entering our institutions full of potential, and too many leaving diminished, disconnected, or simply having survived rather than thrived.
At the same time, I watched colleagues—deeply committed educators—working within systems that made it increasingly difficult to teach in the ways they knew truly mattered.
There was a growing gap.
A gap between what education said it valued—creativity, belonging, growth, human potential—and what it actually measured, prioritised, and rewarded.
And that gap was costing us.
Not just in outcomes, but in people.
